AIS-Automitic Indentification System
Enhances the safty of navigation and sfficiency of VTS operation. Ships ID, type of shipp (cargo, fish boat etc.) position, speed, course, Navigation, status and other safty-related information are exchanged withy AIS-fitted ships and VTS control stations automatically, thus reducing the workload. The system is configured on VHF radio links by TDMA technology. The AIS target symbols can be overlaid on the radar FAR-21×7 series, FAR-28×7 series, FAR-28×5 series (with RP-340) and FR-21×5 series (with RP-250).
